Sometimes you have to look back to move forward. Preparing for Mother’s (Pauline) 90th birthday celebration back in 2006, she was asked a series of questions about her life for a memory book that was given to family members. When asked about what message she would give to future generations she wrote,

“When this is read 20, 50 or even 100 years from now, I hope they will say they came from a wonderful background of Americans who believed in the future. Those Americans fought to define our liberty and our freedom. I hope the younger ones understand that success does not come without a price. Always cooperate and be a team member, we are all in this together. Life has taught me there are still a lot of people, places and things we can trust. Be patriotic Americans and trust in God, we owe him praise every day.

Life on earth is short compared to eternity.”

With an influence like this, how can you not wake up each morning and be proud of who you are, and where you came from.

Often I am asked why I love farming, and it’s because we always have the opportunity to get better. To strive to find smarter methods to continue to provide a quality food product while still being kind to our resources.

As we begin the process of transitioning our company to the next generation, we do so with excitement, confidence and support as they navigate the future of Irsik Farms for their generation and all of the generations to follow.
